Life on the water
Practising sports, living and working on the water will increasingly become the norm in everyday life.
Surface waters take up more space every day and that forces us to come up with floating solutions.
A combination of EPS and concrete is often chosen as a floating body. The enormous buoyancy of EPS makes it possible to build floating structures. However, the downside of EPS is that it is vulnerable and must therefore be protected.
A special “skin”
Prokol developed a liquid synthetic for this that provides EPS with durable protection against external influences. Rocathaan Hotspray is applied as a seamless skin that is sprayed on. The quick reaction time of the product means this coating cures after a few seconds, forming a highly impact-resistant liner in a thickness of 2 to 5 mm.
The necessary practical experience has meanwhile been gained with the coating process and various floating projects have now been realised in the Netherlands and abroad in collaboration with leading partners.
