A lot to endure
Floors in car parks have to a lot to endure. Turning wheels, accelerating, braking and, on top of all that, the load of plasticizers from tyres, de-icing salts, oils and other released substances. These influences occur regularly and must be taken into account when choosing a (floor) coating.
Wishes and requirements
A floor coating in a car park may under no circumstances be slippery and in most cases must comply with AS SIKB 6700 guidelines. This Impermeable Facility Certificate (formerly CUR/PBV-44) can only be issued subject to an independent visual inspection by a specialist.
For indoor floors, low-noise floor finishes are very popular. The annoying “squeaking” sound of tyres on a slippery surface is a common scare for unsuspecting visitors.
