Types of storage spaces
Storage spaces are widely used for the safe storage of goods. A storage space can be built per house or as part of a communal area. These are usually located underneath an apartment complex (basement storeroom) or as an outside building (external storeroom).
According to the 2012 Building Decree, the aforesaid storage spaces must meet the following requirements: “The space must be lockable and dry. There must be sufficient ventilation, light and/or electricity and you must be able to move around safely”
Moving safely across a suitable floor
Floor and wall coatings are an essential part when it comes to being able to move safely.
Examples include colours, slip resistance, durability and cleanability of the floor. Walls and even ceilings contribute to safety as well. For example, light colours and fire and smoke behaviour.
